I've been a bit lazy, and haven't painted a single new necron since that destroyer at the start of february. Too many tyranids. Anyway, Now I want to pick up a brush and some Nerons and get painiting... how did you do that glowie effect? For the base, I first paint the base all black and drybrush on grey. I then paint the glowy rocks a solid coat of bright yellow. I heavily drybrush bright green over the rock and a small surrounding area, then finally I drybrush a duller green more lightly but over a wider area. The green on the rods takes longer, as it's basically just layering up through about 4 or 5 ever brighter coats of green (up to green mixed with yellow). I haven't experimented with a quicker way of doing this yet, but I have some ideas involving washing white paint. Oh, I did finish that Heirodule a while back. It's not a necron, but it'll do until I can find time to get some more 'crons painted. It's sparkly because the carapace is coated with gloss varnish, and I didn't turn off the camera flash when I took the photo.
