I have been playing for about a month and built a pretty decent army able to beat tao and tyrannids pretty easily. I use a doom stalker, Lokhust heavy destroyers for high damage at very long range, 6 skorpekh destroyers for a big murder blob. My last army was about 350 pts shy of 2k so my friends adjust to meet mine.
2 patrols HQS Skorpekh Lord Plasmancer Overlord Command barge
Troops 10 warriors 5 immortals
Elite 6 skorpekh destroyers (1 unit) 2 crypothralls
Fast 3 wraiths 3 tomb blades 3 scarabs (hold back objective for cheap and easy to obscure.)
Heavy 3 lokhust heavy destroyers 1 doomstalker
I place my troops aggressively, ready to start a large move into shooting and possibly. Placed right the overlords move aura is priceless. Also note I take the custom dynasty relentless march for a free 6" move. The other i take is for the rerolls for either wounds or hits. On a 1st turn, if you go 1st, you have all units that would have moved up to 6"+ their normal move + any advances or charges +1" for being in move aura. Stack auras, MWBD x4 using shenanigans and you will light up even the hardest infantry. If you can manage a charge in with skorpekh destroyers and you pretty much means you are going to win.
Now I do struggle playing Iron Hands. The endless saves, tanks and dreadnaughts reigning fire, they excel in shooting and melee, OP stratagems, endless rerolls and through shenanigans get 2 to 3 cp a turn. I haven't used this load out against them yet. I added alot. I don't use many troops from the indomitus set anymore aside from the ones listed. I'm about 800 into the hobby. Plus I'm going to end up another 800 before I'm done.
Be aware the night bring is heavily nerfed in 9th edition. Before you could take him clear across the made with a tesseract or 3 and you could simply blast c'tan powers 12 times in a turn, then follow up with a very formidable shooting laying waste to any army. This build is usually not allowed in tournaments.
