So it seems that my Necrons disagree with the forces of the Nihilakh Dynasty quiet a lot!
forces:
ME:
Overlord, everything, warscythe, Phaeron
30 Imms
5 Lychguards, Warscythes (test subjects).
ENEMY:
Overlord on ccb, dont remember upgrades but had a warscythe
20 Imms, 10 with Tesla
Lord, orb, scythe
20 Warriors (all with lord)
TERRAIN:
Some buildings at the corners, middle is open.
MISSION:
Relic.
DEPLOYMENT:
Standard, 12" from board edge...
I go first:
TURN 1: MY CRONS
Move move move! And move again (run)! Overlord is with imms. I set up like a wall of 30 Imms with the guards in front.
TURN 1: ENEMY CRONS
Everything moves and fires at the lychguards, killing 2... 1 is back!
TURN 2: MY CRONS
Everything is now in range for rapid fire, and does so! of the 20 Warriors, i kill 14 thanks to AP4 but 6 come back. Tesla unit takes around 3 deaths but all are back...
TURN 2: ENEMY CRONS
Power struggle. the two lines exchange fire all the time! I recive few losses thanks to my army been all-Immortal!! CCB charges my Overlord and his unit, but both Overlords are killed! Thankfully, mine comes back with 2 Wounds!
TURN 3: MY CRONS
Now that the enemy heavy hitter is killed, my overlord joins the lychguards and charges the Warriors, now only 9 are left after the combat and the lord is lying on the ground. Overlord massacres the unit behind the shieldwall of Lychguard Warscythes.
TURN 4: ENEMY CRONS
Everything charges the Lychguards in hope to save the entire army, this gives me precious time to capture the relic we were fighting for! unfortunately, 3 Lychguards are killed and only 1 came back, but the guards and the Overlord hacked through the rest of Warriors and swept advanced them. Then the enemy surrendered.
Tought them not to mess up with the Cryceph Dynasty!!!
So lessons:
1) Lychguards might be cool with Scythes but are VERY slow to strike, giving the enemy a great advantage. If he had brought like lightning claw Termies then all would be dust in one turn. Guards also BEG for an Overlord to accompany them and are top effective if brought in 10s. Same like Praetorians, but not THAT bad...
2) Immortal Phalanxes are super-killers! If you aim at one squad at a time, thats 60 Str5 Ap4 shots right there! That can really take out anything short of a titan when combined with Stalker...
