Really brief and bloody battle, tought the strumfs not to mess up with my Tomb World!
TERRAIN:
GW realm of battle. One ruin at each corner, 12" from the middle.
Battle For Macragge terrain at the middle (Crushed ship).
FORCES:
Overlord, scythe, MSS, TL.
Stormtek (In case of a vehicle showing up)
8 Imms, Gauss
8 Warriors
A-barge with gauss
Termie Chaplain
20 marines, 1 flamer, 1 missile launcher, 1 multi melta.
MISSION: THE RELIC
Enemy goes first, i dont steal the initiative.
TURN 1: SPACE MARINES
he breaks into 4 combat squads, one with bolters, one with missile, one with flamer, one with multi-melta.
I deploy my Imms at the front, those guys WILL stand against marine shooting, warriors wont. Warriors are set up in a forest behind the Immortals. A-barge deployes in cover by the forest.
He moves up, flamer squad from my left flank, missile squad from right flank, bolters from the middle, melta stays behind. chaplain on his own to give me an extra target, some bolters fire, doing nothing...
TURN 1: NECRONS
Immortals move up and into cover from the debris in the middle, A-barge moves too, to get closer and to get the jink save. Warriors move out of cover, just to form a distraction.
Immortals shoot and kill 2 marines from the flamer squad. A-barge shoots at the missile squad, killing one.
Forgot to mention, Stormtek and Overlord are with the Imms...
TURN 2: SPACE MARINES:
ld tests passed. Flamer squad moves up. bolter squad too, so does the chaplain, everybody runs. Melta shoots at the barge, but i roll a 5 on cover save! Missile shoots at the Warriors, killing one, RP not passed...
TURN 2: NECRONS
This was a great turn for me, everybody moves to secure the Relic. Everyone is now in range to rapid fire. Bolter squad is Annihilated from the tesla destructor (rolled 2 6s!!), Chaplain is killed from the Warriors, Melta squad killed from Immortals, Overlord leaves the Imms and Charges the Flamer squad, Killing them all...
And here the enemy surrendered.
CASUALTIES OF WAR:
Marines: 16 battle borthers.
Necrons: 1 Warrior (lol)
Comments:
1) A-barge is monster at 500 points, take at least one!!
2) Luck can win a game for you. Me rolling above 3 all the time and enemy always rolling 1s and 2s and maybe some 3s makes for a very strange game, i swear i didnt have loaded dice as they belonged to my opponent.
3) Ultramarines are represented as super guys that cannot be killed, well FEAR NOT they are as fragile as IG sometimes.
4) IMMORTALS, always those in the front line!
5) when up against marines, deploy 11 inches, NOT 12 from your board, this way the enemy cannot target you with meltas and stuff for an extra turn.
6) A combat squad in the open is a dead squad, but must attract the firepower of immortals to kill them, warriors are nice support guys to finish off squads!
SO ANOTHER VICTORY FOR THE NECRONS!!! NEXT REPORT NEXT WEEK!!!
