My list:
His list:
I'm writing from memory, so there might be some mistakes in his list, and all I can comment on is general stuff.
The overall plan worked - I had Obyron, the Overlord, and the Lord join the Lychguard, while the Crypteks and Zahndrek went with the Warriors. Everything teleported in front of the bulk of his army, though one squad of Warriors kept having a mishap and spent the entire game either getting delayed or being stuck in the corner by my opponent. The idea was to get so many threats up in his face that whatever was left over was enough to take advantage of his short-range vulnerability.
Lychguard with a few Warscythes hidden inside the unit are excellent. Tough to kill, and they can deal out quite a bit of damage. Thanks to their resiliency they ended up more than paying for themselves. Obyron's Ghostwalk Mantle is way better than the Night Scythe alternative, imo.
The huge blocks of Warriors mostly did their job, though the one that actually didn't mishap all the time got wiped out by plasma blasts pretty quickly. Still though, it meant that the Lychguard remained relatively intact.
Scarabs haven't let me down yet. Entropic Strike is great for vehicle armies, and the high number of attacks is great for horde armies. Just good all around - point em in the direction of the enemy, make use of cover, and they tend to pay off.
Doom Scythes were iffy. Before they even got a chance to shoot, 2 lost their Death Rays. Granted, the one that had a Death Ray left over completely crippled the Basilisks (AP1 on open topped artillery is a joke - even if you roll a 1 you get a weapon destroyed result), but 525 points is a large investment. At best, I feel like they barely paid for themselves, but I also have to admit that their presence took a lot of pressure off of the rest of my army, so I'm willing to give these guys another chance. I do wonder if Doomsday Arks are the way to go, though.
The IG player ended up conceding on Turn 4, his best hope was looking like a draw, and so he decided to call it. In the next version of this list, I'm going to give the Overlord the ResOrb rather than the Lord, and make sure that the Lord has a Phase Shifter. That unit just takes too many shots for a Lord to 'hide' inside of it - he ends up taking a wound eventually if he doesn't have an invulnerable save. I think the list still needs more testing, there were a lot of lucky/unlucky things going on with both sides, and I want to give Doom Scythes another chance to impress me.
Anyways, if you have any questions feel free to ask- I know this isn't much of a battle report but it's all I can do without pictures.
