Alright, so all I can really make at this point is a 900 pt. list because all I have is a Battleforce and a Lord. While I CAN make a 1,000 pt. army I have to take a lot of useless upgrades and it is no fun to do that. But without further delay here is my list, what do you think?
HQ: Necron Lord- Warscythe, Resurrection Orb, Gaze of Flame- 165 pts.
Troops: Necron Warriors- 14x- 252 pts.
Necron Warriors- 14x- 252 pts.
Fast Attack: Destroyers- 3x- 150 pts.
Scarab Swarms- 5x- Disruption fields- 80 pts.
Total: 899 pts.
The plan is to have all units with 6" of the lord at all times. The lord will be in one of the Warrior units. The other unit of warriors will be beside the first unit and will focus fire on one unit at a time (higher chances of bringing it down). The Destroyers will be behind or beside the Warriors and will blast away at any heavy infantry or vehicles. Finally the Scarabs will be giving cover to the whole army and acting as an assault speed bump. The reason they have Disruption fields is so if need be they can shoot off and take out a tank (I have seen these things take down Land Raiders, scary). I know the list doesn't have much but there isn't all to much that I can take at 900 pts. with only a Battleforce and a Lord.

that sounds possible but it would be impossible for my nid army to even scratch the surface of yuor crons in that formation sountds like a deathstar and a half. but is it overdoing it

The formation is not so much a 'Deathstar' but rather it uses Synergy, or as they call it in the codex "The Phalanx". It is built so that every unit has a purpose (ie: Destroyers shoot vehicles, Sacaras as speed bump) and the other units support it, and vise versa. Which is really the only way to play Necrons at this point in time, while in some other armies you can have units doing there own thing, the Necrons cannot afford to do that. But I do agree, it is a solid formation that is pretty hard to break

It's not a Deathstar, it's a decent formation, but it has no offensive power whatsoever. Try this, it's a little more offensive - which is needed in small point games:
HQ: Necron Lord Destroyer Body Warscythe 140
TROOPS: 11 Necron Warriors 198
11 Necron Warriors 198
FAST ATTACK: 5 Scarab Swarms 60
3 Necron Destoryers 150
TOTAL: 746pts
Lord goes with Scarabs and turbo boosts up the board giving the squad a 2++ save. Destroyers go with all the Warriors and form a phalanx designed to distract while the Lord uses Warscythe to take out vehicles. This is the list I've been using and it hasn't lost yet.
For bumping it up to 1k, just add Heave Destroyers, they're not as bad as you think if you position them right. Remember, the enemy cannot kill you if he cannot see you. I suppose in that respect that makes this list more veteran than some, but in the hands of a good player it is a damn efficient list.

I really like that list, very clever. The Scarabs are Fearless which will make the Lord fearless too, They can all move like Jetbikes so they are extremely fast, and since the scarabs are swarms they increase the 3++ save to a 2++ save, and since they are the majority even the lord will get a 2++ save (for taking hits that would insta-kill the Scarabs). One thing I may change is drop a warrior and add disruption fields to the Scarabs, just because if your Lord doesn't hurt the vehicle (which may happen) you still have all those little guys to glance the hell out of it.
As for my list it is defensive, I figured Necrons may be an army that could play the defense card, but since I have never played an actual game with them I have yet to find out.

The defense card works when you're up against something you can handle. If Mephiston was against your list it would crumble simply because of the power of him. Best thing to do is have a quick offense that cripples your opponent's main threat to you, ie, your Lord would go for a Russ, or a Rhino with guys in it (surrounding with Scarabs to destory it).
For 1k, I've thought of adding 2 Heavy Destoryers and a Lord with a Res Orb on foot, not sure though. A Monolith is tempting.

Yes, one thing too is after I turbo boost split the Lord fro the scarab on my next turn. So then I can hit two different vehicles at once, or even have the scarabs assault a unit that may be to close to the Lord for my liking, especially if they have power weapons.
And it seems to me that you like destroyers, how well do they work? I have only seen the 3 normal ones in action and they do well enough. I was thinking of a fun/evil destroyer list. Have 3 squads of 3 and like, one squad of three heavies.
A quick test list:
HQ: Necron Lord- Warscythe, destroyer body, Phylactery, Phase shifter, Disruption field- 190 pts.
Troops: Necron warriors- 10x- 180 pts.
Necron warriors- 10x- 180 pts.
Fast Attack: Destroyer- 3x- 150 pts.
Destroyer- 3x- 150 pts.
Destroyer- 3x- 150 pts.
Total; 1,000 pts.

1 thing about the 2++ the lord cant get that easily because that means him going into terrain which is a dangerous terrain test for him and he is too many points to risk surely, other than that yeah DLord with scarabs with DF are great, chuck in a scythe there too and that unit will chew through most things.
Remember if your taking blocks of warriors that you need 1 behind the other... 6" apart and side by side means they can be multiple assault and they will pretty much get wiped if they get charged cos you will loose combat resolution 9 out of 10 times.
If you want to up your army a bit then geta warrior box and make a squad of immortals out of them. Buy some heavy D's and magnetise the weapons so you can use them as heavies or normal Destroyers and buy a lith.
