My goal was to show the Object Source Lighting (OSL) technique employed on this Necron Warrior. I wanted something dark and dramatic, while also being relatively easy to replicate over the course of an entire army. The camera just wouldn't quite focus properly, thus I was unable to adequately display the effect I was going for. I may produce some alternate photos later. Anyway, thanks for viewing. I'm excited to see some of the other entries! I WANT TO DO THAT TOO do you have any tips for me |

Sorry for another post, but I modified the first, and included bigger photos. The quality of the photos still bugs me, but I won't have access to another camera before the 15th. Still, I hope you like it. arsonfire: That looks sweet! @moontyranid: It's tough to explain through typing, and I'm short on time at the moment. Maybe I will make a photo or video tutorial in the near future. I'm currently in the process of repainting my whole Necron army. I'll have my warrior posted end of day Thursday (the 15th).

Alright, so I will actually extend the deadline for this painting comp. until the 20th. So far I only see 3 or 4 different peoples Warriors out of the 8 that signed up. Hopefully this will give everyone enough time to get a Warrior done, if not done by the 20th you are out of the comp.
And another heads up, I will create another topic with a poll on it for voting. The voting with go until the 31st of December, at the end I will reveal the votes and see who the winner is!
Ontil then, keep painting!

I have all of the Necrons I will need for a while. I just like the competition, the buzz, and the fact that it kicks people into gear, in terms of getting their stuff painted. The free models are a nice bonus, for sure, but that's not my primary motivation. Who couldn't use more stuff, right? EDIT: I also think it would be cool to see how people's variations translate across the different models. |

Wow I would have totally lost this comp, cause I thought it was for the 16th, and I was planning on putting the final touches on today, luckily it is extended. ^^
