Read a thread on the B&C....
Can a destroyer chassis turbo and fire in the same turn.
Thought process.... BRB says move 12" and fire or turbo 24" right?!
Codex crons says that a destroyer body can always move and fire.... on a technicality a destroyer body can always fire its weapon thus a destroyer can technically move 24" and then shoot!
Now obviously this is not RAI and is very RAW
DISCUSS!!!!!

I am not a 100% on this but I asked another Necron player at the LGS and he said they cannot Turbo-boost and still fire. I believe what the rulebook meant by they can always move and fire, is they can move 12" and still fire, or move and fire heavy weapons. But not move 24" and fire their weapons.

RAW you can make a good case. RAI, it would be wrong.
And if you do turbo-boost and fire, you risk annoying a lot of people.

I would not do this personally! I can win games without trying to load games my way through rule manipulation. If I knew someone who did this I would beat them with the soggy ends of their own limbs for being idiots and I would expect anyone else who ever met someone who did this to never play that person ever again. Just thought that it was really interesting to see. You can see why its never come up on a necron forum and has on a morines forum though! None of us cron players would do it!

But who sais that it is rule manipulation? If your unsure about it, you could always just ask Games Workshop.
But I don't think any one should do this, unless GW is telling you this is allowed. And hey... It's not like we have the easiest time at the moment, so a Yes would be just awesome.

It would be awsome but how over powered would we become, technically a destroyer wing would rarely take a single casualty because they would be shooting 24" and rattling every tank going so nothing could move then once everything got out to shoot back we could then move back and rattle them before they could get back into av10 body armour!!

As I said it would make our destroyers so over powered that no one would play us. Could you imagine though I have 22 destroyer bodies in my destroyer wing, They would have an effective range of 60" and have an armour save of 3+ with a cover of 4+. That would be hella scary and would obliterate stuff like guard and marines so easily!

I haven't got the codex at hand ATM, but why did they write the rule in the first place? I mean... wasn't this what they meant with the rule?

No what was meant by that rule was that the weapons are heavy so they are move or fire but because of the "can always move and fire" rule the heavy rule was negated!
It was a bit stupid as the only things that can ever take those weapons is destroyers/heavy destroyers so they should have made them assault weapons instead but hey!! Who knows what goes through the GW boys heads!

The same line of reasoning could be used for Eldar Jetbikes. Can they turbo boost and still do their additional movement in the assault phase?
Also... <--- New avatar! I love bad puns...

I just hope Destroyers aren't nerfed. New codexes have a nack for breaking good units, and making bad units 'so-so' Then again I only have 3 so not like a put a lot of money into them

Don't expect anything to be nurfed... Unless of course he makes them sucks so that his Marine boys will do better.
